OVERVIEW / SYNOPSIS
Celebrate the wackiness in every family with this best-selling Broadway musical adapted for middle school-age performers! Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family whom her parents have never met. She confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
Auditions-
Sunday, August 27th starting at 2pm. Registration is required. Each actor will get a 10-minute timeslot. Auditions will consist of singing 16 bars and song choices will be sent out after registration.
Callbacks-
Monday, August 28th from 5-6:30pm. Callbacks will consist of readings from the script.
About the process-
This production will train young performers to become a dynamic, skilled, stage actors. The next step from the "minis", this production will rehearse at NESPA and then move to the Peabody Black Box for the performances. The music, choreography and scene work will become more challenging, and actors will be expected to work on their material outside of rehearsals. We create a safe learning environment where everyone will feel like an important part of the production. Our programs integrate social/emotional learning and confidence building to make it a truly unique learning experience. We focus on building confidence and creativity while learning the art of theatre.
Rehearsal Dates - Sunday, September 17th - Sunday, November 5th. Rehearsals are from 4-7pm. Some actors will be called in on Friday evenings for small group work or choreography. Actor availability can be noted on the audition form.
Sunday, November 12th. transition to the Peabody Black Box. Please keep this day completely open.
Tech week- We rehearse from 5-8pm. Days are t.b.d. Actors should keep week open. There are no absences during tech week.
Ticketed Performances-
Saturday, 11/18- noon and 3pm
Sunday, 11/19-noon and 3pm
We are anticipating the show to be 60 minutes long.
