WINTER '24/'25 - Play Production: "Hercules" - Mondays, 4:30pm-6:30pm (Ages 8-12)
This fall, our play production class will be working on a stage version of Hercules. This 30-40 minute, non-musical version of the story will incorporate elements from the original Greek mythology, as well as the Disney film!
"Travel back to Ancient Greece with the Muses as they take you through the story of how Hercules, the son of Zeus and Hera, was snatched as a baby by Hades and stripped of almost all his godly power. Now as a teenager living among mortals, Hercules must perform a rite of passage to prove himself a true hero and retake his place on Mount Olympus. But his Uncle Hades won't let it be an easy joinery for him..."
This production will feature a diverse cast of characters, including Hercules, Megara, Philoctetes, Zeus, Hera, Hades, Pain and Panic, The Muses, and the Fates!
Learn about all the aspects that go into a play - from acting to costumes to set! This class will teach actors how to take a script and bring it to life alongside faculty members who will inspire and guide. Young actors will build confidence in themselves as performers and as people in an encouraging environment. We have mastered the art of transforming young performers into dynamic actors.
The class will culminate in a weekend of ticketed ($12) performances!
