OVERVIEW / SYNPOSIS
"Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium."
Auditions:
Saturday, January 4th, beginning at 1pm. Registering is required to reserve your audition slot. Each actor will be given a 5min time slot. Auditions will consist of singing 16 bars, and the song choices will be sent out prior to the auditions, following registration.
Callbacks:
Sunday, January 5th from 1pm-4pm. Callbacks will consist of readings from the script.
About the process:
This production will train young performers to become a dynamic, skilled, stage actors. The next step from the "minis", this production will be held off site at the Peabody Black Box Theatre! The music, choreography and scene work will become more challenging, and actors will be expected to work on their material outside of rehearsals. We create a safe learning environment where everyone will feel like an important part of the production. Our programs integrate social/emotional learning and confidence building to make it a truly unique learning experience. We focus on building confidence and creativity while learning the art of theatre.
Rehearsal Dates:
Sunday, January 12th to March 23rd. Rehearsals are from 4-7pm at NESPA studios 106 and 107 (located at 55 Concord Street). Actors in lead roles may be asked to come in early for some rehearsals. Actor availability can be noted on the audition form.
Tech week:
We will move into the Peabody Black Box Theatre (located at 22 Foster Street, Peabody, MA) on Sunday, March 30th. Actors should keep the week open. There are no absences during tech week. A full tech week schedule will be sent out once the show has been cast.
Ticketed Performances at Peabody:
Performances will be held on April 5th and 6th. Exact times will be determined following casting.
