HOPE; a multi-arts week during February Vacation!.
Join us this February!
Come to NESPA over February Vacation for an incredible creative learning experience.
HOPE- an multi-arts program for tweens and teens.
Over February Vacation, we are inviting the students of NESPA to come and create a multi-arts performance piece based on the concepts of finding and giving hope. The mission of the week is how to find hope and resilience in difficult times and how the arts can heal, even in the most difficult times. Here is how a sample day will look-
8:30am- Check-in and warm-up games.
9:00am- Journaling and creative writing on the topic of hope, inspiration, resilience, etc.
10am-Art inspired by the writings.
11am- Scene work and monologues. We will create our own, or find pieces that have meaning to us.
Noon- Lunch
1pm- Music. Finding and performing music based from our theme or writings from the day.
2pm- Movement. Student created choreography that is based off of the music portion of the day.
3pm- Wrap-up/dismissal.
A successful week would be one where the actors were able to express themselves creativity in a safe space. The goal of the project is self-expression, not to create a polished performance piece. We will give the kids the opportunity to share what they have created throughout the week if they would like to, but there will be no pressure to perform.
This week is perfect for tweens/teens who love the arts and are interested in learning how to create an original show through collaboration and leadership.
